Gil Inoue
About Gil Inoue
Educated in fine art, with influences from cinema and literature, Gil Inoue’s approach to photography is akin to a painter, with the same sense and use of light and composition. Moving to New York from São Paulo, Brasil in 2004, Gil immediately began work as first assistant to Dusan Reljin, followed by stints with Craig McDean and Solve Sunsbø. Gil’s precise use of light and his refined eye for composition are reflected throughout his work. With a restraint towards trends, Gil’s work encompasses the sensual, classical elements of photography. Gil’s collaborations include work with Helmut Lang, John Varvatos, Cîroc, Vogue Brasil, and Elle.
