Mike Karlsson Lundgren’s long involvement with making fashion imagery has prepared him for his profession as a photographer. His career has been diverse, with an early introduction to photography as part of the heady New York and Paris fashion world of the late 80’s until early 2000, collaborating with editors and creative directors such as Grace Coddington and Fabien Baron. Mike later moved into photography with emphasis on interiors, still life, lifestyle and portraits. Being born in the far north of Sweden and later rooted in New York for many years might reflect in Mike’s practice as a calm and earthy approach to photography, while maintaining a modern aspect. Often memories of travel, light and shadow are reconstituted to make his images. His preference of natural daylight results in a poetic feel with muted colors and room for blank space.
